Part 2 of the BFH Mindset & Wellness series, inspired by Marisa Peer's five RTT® principles. These are practical ideas, not universal laws of neuroscience.

Before you change your habits, imagine yourself succeeding.

Why Imagination Matters

Vivid mental images can influence emotions and help us prepare for future experiences. Mental imagery has shown modest benefits in research on health behaviors, but visualization is not a substitute for practice.

Rehearse the Process

Instead of imagining only your ideal future body, picture putting on your shoes, starting a walk, handling a busy morning and completing a realistic workout.

Try Two Minutes

Close your eyes, visualize beginning one healthy activity, imagine overcoming one obstacle, then decide exactly when to act. Make your environment support that plan: prepare your shoes or keep exercise equipment accessible.

A compact home treadmill can make everyday movement more convenient. Explore the BFH Under-table Treadmill. Picture it, plan it, do it.
